New General Manager for Samoa Ports Authority

So’oalo Kuresa So’oalo

Cabinet has approved the appointment of So’oalo Kuresa So’oalo as the new General Manager for the Samoa Ports Authority (SPA). So’oalo, a certified Chartered Accountant joins SPA after spending the last 15 years as the Assistant Chief Executive Officer – Finance (CFO) with the Samoa Shipping Corporation and 14 years with the ANZ Bank. He holds a Masters in Business Administration, a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and brings with him extensive financial and leadership experience from the banking, transport and maritime industry.

So’oalo looks forward to working closely with the Minister, Board, Management & Staff and all of SPA’s stakeholders to make sure SPA contributes to the social and economic development of Samoa. “My vision is aligned to SPA’s Vision, which is for SPA to lead the Pacific region in the provision of efficient port services”.

So’oalo’s motivation for applying for the General Manager’s position was driven by a sense of ‘tautua’ (service). “It has always been my desire to serve our people in a decision making and leadership role and SPA has given me that opportunity”.

The Ministry for Public Enterprises looks forward to working closely with So’oalo over the next three years and wishes him and the Samoa Ports Authority the very best.
