New Director for the Board of the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC)

Cabinet has approved the appointment of Mrs Naomi Malaeulu to the ACC Board. Mrs Malaeulu is a qualified Human Resource Adviser. She holds both Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Arts majoring in Pacific Studies from Victoria University (New Zealand) and is currently pursuing a Masters of Human Resource Management with Deakin University (Australia). Mrs Malaeulu has worked as a Human Resource Consultant in New Zealand and Australia since 2010. She is currently the Human Resource Manager for the LDS Samoa Service Centre at Pesega.

The Independent Selection Committee (ISC) that advises Cabinet regarding Directorship positions recommended Mrs Malaeulu to the ACC Board given her extensive experience in managing employer-employee relationships, dealing with occupational health & safety issues and worker entitlements. The ISC is confident that she will provide the ACC Board with invaluable insight into the issues and concerns faced by workers and in the process make ACC more responsive in addressing the needs of its contributors.

Mrs Malaeulu is looking forward to contributing to the values of integrity, honesty, transparency and ‘alofa’ to the ACC Board. “These are the values that will improve service delivery and performance of the Corporation and I’m looking forward to working with the other Directors to achieve this” (Mrs Naomi Malaeulu).
